Vazendah

Wellness for Everyone.

At Vazendah, we believe that your physical, mental, and emotional well -being are interconnected. That our external environment and life experiences from injuries to illness and lifestyle to trauma can change our physiology resulting in poor health, pain, and illness.

Today in our fast paced and stressful world, wellness is not what you usually turn to when you don’t feel well or are diagnosed with a disease.  After all there are so many definitions of wellness, that it’s hard to understand how it can really help you and make you feel better. You may be under the care of a physician, who is doing a great job treating your disease, but medicine is so specialized now that it focuses on treating your diagnosis and often neglects you, the whole person.

Our care is meant to enrich all of the dimensions of your well-being by giving you the space and attention to be heard and heal.  Our holistic therapies have stood the test of time. Acupuncture, massage, Shamanic Healing, Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy® all help you heal from the inside out. These therapies combined with traditional medicine, wellness coaching, diet, and exercise can help you to take back control of your health, feel better, and achieve optimal wellness.

Time goes by very quickly, and there is no medicine for regret. Explore Vazendah today and let us help you feel better tomorrow.

Vazendah Acupuncture

Acupuncture

Our Acupuncture treatments are personalized for each patient taking all aspects of one’s health and life into account to treat the underlying cause of your condition, not just your symptoms. Acupuncture is effective in treating a wide variety of conditions including chronic pain, acute injuries, stress, infertility, and much more.

Treatments may include other modalities such as electrical stimulation, cupping, Gua Sha, and infrared light therapy.

Acupuncture originated in China and has been around for thousands of years. It works based on the belief that various parts of your mind and body are connected by a vital energy called Qi (chi). This Qi flows through your body, and any disruptions in this flow affect your health, resulting in illness. The goal of acupuncture is to keep this flow going smoothly, which keeps you healthy; or, if you’re already sick, acupuncture frees blockages that are causing your illness or pain.

The Qi flows through channels called meridians, which connect your internal organs with the surface. There are 20 meridians, 12 primary meridians relating to each of your organ systems and 8 secondary meridians.

Acupuncture is a pain free therapy. The Acupuncturist places needles on certain localized points in the skin to direct the flow of Qi along specific meridians. The meridians lie along main nerve centers in the body, and each acupuncture point stimulates the nervous system in a specific way releasing blockages, stimulating circulation and producing endorphins. Clients report relaxation, pain relief and a generalized feeling of well being after a treatment. For many ailments, a series of Acupuncture treatments are recommended for symptomatic relief.

Vazendah Cupping

Cupping

Cupping is a practice used in traditional medicine in China and the Middle East. It involves creating suction on the skin using a glass, ceramic, bamboo, or plastic cup. Negative pressure is created in the cup either by applying a flame to the cup to remove oxygen before placing it on the skin or by attaching a suction device to the cup after it is placed on the skin. In “wet cupping,” the skin is pierced, and blood flows into the cup. “Dry cupping” doesn’t involve piercing the skin.

The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure). Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and even cellulite.

Gua sha is intended to address stagnant energy, called chi, in the body that practitioners believe may be responsible for inflammation. Inflammation is the underlying cause of several conditions associated with chronic pain. Rubbing the skin’s surface is thought to help break up this energy, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.

Gua sha is generally performed on a person’s back, buttocks, neck, arms, and legs. A gentle version of it is even used on the face as a facial technique. Your technician may apply mild pressure, and gradually increase intensity to determine how much force you can handle.

In gua sha therapy, your skin is scraped with short or long strokes to stimulate microcirculation of the soft tissue, which increases blood flow. They make these strokes with a smooth-edged instrument known as a gua massage tool. The technician applies massage oil to your skin, and then uses the tool to repeatedly scrape your skin in a downward motion.

Vazendah Reiki

Reiki

Everything is made of energy and resonated at a natural frequency. At times, these frequencies can be disrupted and cause a person to feel blocked and misaligned. This can lead to emotional imbalance, stress, and even disease. Reiki can help restore you to your natural, organic state.

Reiki (ray-key) is a holistic approach to healing that helps rebalance the body, mind, and spirit. A gentle, non-invasive technique, healing energy is passed through the practitioner’s hands. This ancient Japanese healing modality uses the ever-present universal life force energy to balance the chakras and help restore energy function.

Vazenda Integrated Energy Therapy

Integrated Energy Therapy

Feelings and sensations are stored in the body at a cellular level. Negative or traumatic experiences, stress, fear, anger, resentment, or self-limiting beliefs can become suppressed in the body, which can inhibit or disrupt the body’s natural state of being.

Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) is a safe, gentle, and nurturing way to empower and balance your life by helping you release old patterns of behavior. A hands on healing approach, it gets the “issues our of your tissues.”

IET uses a unique Cellular Memory Map® to target the specific area of your body where these memories are stored, releasing them on a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual level. Once cleared, they are replaced with positive aspects such as contentment, love, and peace.

Shamanic Healing

Shamanism is widely believed to be the most ancient form of spiritual healing on the planet, dating back tens of thousands of years. It has been found in cultures in North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, Central and Northern Asia, Eastern and Northern Europe, and Africa. The techniques used have withstood the test of time and are amazingly similar around the world, despite geographic and cultural differences among those practicing this mode of healing.

Shamanic healing is about restoring wholeness and balance to people and places. Shamans believe that every cause of illness of disease has its roots in spiritual imbalance and the healing practice seeks to restore wholeness.

Some techniques include soul retrieval, healing of ancestral patterns and issues, removal of blockages and unwanted energies, and the energetic clearing of land, homes, and other buildings.

The Intention of Reiki, IET, and Shamanic Healing:
• Align the meridians
• Alleviate stress & tension
• Attune the chakras

“The natural healing force in each one of us is the greatest force in getting well.” –Hippocrates

The journey of Vazendah started back in October 2016 during a girls’ weekend in New Orleans. I had a chance meeting with a mystical man named Oteyaba Cetawba while strolling around Jackson Square. Our conversation was unusual and inspiring and when we were through he told me that he had “a gift for me.”  Surprised, I said “A gift for me?” He said yes, “VAZENDAH.” Never hearing that word before I asked “What is Vazendah?” to which he replied:  “It is yours to create.”

As I walked away, like anyone with a smart phone, I immediately googled Vazendah but there were no results. Shortly thereafter, I purchased all of the URLS that went with the name and knew that someday I would create a company named Vazendah.

Throughout my career, I have been an entrepreneur, a Registered Nurse and a Healthcare executive. I am passionate about helping people who are ill as well as helping those who care for them. These jobs were stressful and I learned early on that massage helped me to process stress. However, after my encounter in New Orleans, I  suddenly found myself very interested in all types of  alternative medicine not only because my daughter Jessica was enrolled in school to become an Acupuncturist but I had a true curiosity to want to understand how it all worked. Additionally, after years of procrastination, I found myself taking  control of my own health becoming a mindful eater, walking, doing yoga and losing weight. As my passion for wellness grew I obtained  my well-coach certification and started to think about creating a wellness company;  after all I already had the name…Vazendah.

Now, I am in my mid  60’s and feel  better than I have in decades. I want to share what I have learned and help others feel good and be healthy. Rather than taking care of others when they are very ill, I want to help people prevent illness or if they are struggling with a disease, help them to find a path to minimize the impact of their disease so they can enjoy life. Research has shown that so many diseases are now preventable if you live a healthy lifestyle. Conventional medicine helps you when you have a specific diagnosis, but alternative medicine helps the whole body heal from the inside. Finding the right balance of both combined with lifestyle changes  is the path to optimal well being.

My wellness journey  began with a chance encounter in New Orleans. The gift I received, Vazendah, started my journey to optimal well being and now I would like to share that gift with you.
